The video shows a rather more complex and expensive component being fixed than just the front glass in the eBay advert. The comment was it cost 150 which I guess was $150.

If it is only the glass cracked and it still works then maybe the £8 glass would do the job otherwise it will cost a fair bit more.

here's a step by step guide to taking the Nexus 4 apart.

The glass and LCD are fused together so unless you're good with a heat gun you'll have to replace the whole front including the LCD.

  • would a recycling firm take it . It would be easier then flapping about with ebay .

Looks to me like you have two fairly easy options - flog it on eBay and get somewhere short of £100 if preceding auctions are anything to go by or pay out for a repair which looks to cost just over £100 on eBay again.

Other options are going to require some research by you and may end up no better.

If you delay on flogging it then I think that the new Nexus 5 when it becaomes available in big numbers will force down Nexus 4 prices. At least I hope so and expect t get a decent one for nearer £100 than the £180+ they go for now.
