Season Ticket Loan - Resigning & New Job

I have been offered a new job, which is great, however I have a few months left on a season ticket loan with my current employer. I was to pay the balance off in full (£1250) from my last salary payment, I will be left with no funds for a month - any ideas on what I can do?

Can I ask my new employer to loan the balance to me?

Should I ask my current employer for more time? I did sign a form stating I would pay back in full (however wasn't expecting to hate the job this much!)

Any help would be gratefully received.

Your current employer are unlikely to agree to you continuing to pay after you leave - it can be difficult and costly to chase such debts and they have every right to take the money from your last pay packet (which is timely, cheap and easy to do).

As for the new employer - your best bet may be to ask for an advance of your wages.

You can see how much you would get it you cash the ticket in and buy a monthly ticket till you see if you get a season ticket loan at the new job. You may lose out a bit of £ but better off if you need the £ in general to live on.

Overdraft? Use a credit card for a couple of months?

I wouldn't recommend asking the new employer as I think that is a bit cheeky.
