Euro Account in the UK

Barclays are also doing one. Beyond a certain amount there are no charges. However, there is no trace of any interest, so look to use the money soon not to suffer value loss due to inflation. As you are talking a serious amount here (property sale) do consider the guaranteed limits. Better to open an account in two names if possible to enjoy double the limits. The Barclays Euro account keeps the money in the UK and not offshore therefore you are not getting your name in lists of UK residents offshore banks send to HMRC reporting interest earners abroad for tax purposes.0
