Been trial-hopping from one program to the other to make my laptop DVD-Rom region free, but they all cost quite a bit, anyone know a good region killer that's under £15?

Not under £15 unfortunately, but I use AnyDVD by Slysoft and it's excellent. It costs $49 but there's a 20% discount code on the Slysoft purchase page which brings it down to about $40 (a bit over £20). The good thing is that all future upgrades are included in the price.

Whats the make and model of the drive? Start, Run (type) devmgmt.msc hit enter then expand the DVD/CD Rom drives and tell us the make and model of the drive.0

you may be able to just update your firmware, without having to spend anything. All legit.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
You could try DVD Decrypter which is free from Filehippo.com
Otherwise, I second AnyDVD from Slysoft. Its an excellent piece of software and well worth the discounted price. Its also pretty future proof being capable of handling HD media.Lack of money is the root of all evil.

I have had very good results with DVD43. As the name suggests (dvd-for-free - get it?) it's a free download and very easy to use - it just sits in your system tray and somehow intercepts and decodes the data stream.
