Help with Youtube please

Suddenly (as of today) I'm unable to play any Youtube videos. There's just a blank black screen with no control buttons - everything else seems to be there. I can see comments, the person's name who uploaded it, the little thumb up, thumb down signs; everything except the video.

Is there anyone who could suggest how I can sort this out please?

It could well be a problem with the flash player setup on your computer.
Did you recently install any updates on the PC?

You could try reinstalling the flash player to see if it sorts the problem out.

Here is my stab: Disable popup blocker.

Also suggest clear your Cache, cookies, history, then close the browser, and restart it again as it is the fix that works for me in firefox

Thank you both so much - did all that - cleared everything and uninstalled the old adobe flash then restarted and reinstalled new flash player. Hey presto - we have lift off! I had actually downloaded something from the BBC site (something to do with iplayer) earlier today, so I think perhaps that might have had something to do with my problem.
