Fraud Use on my credit report

Hi,
Someone has been using my personal information off Companies House to obtain mobile phones on contracts, online store credit etc. I have contacted all the companies directly (at a very high cost too) and informed them it's not me, to which they agreed and said they were dealing with the claim through their fraud teams. I also contacted the police fraud team and got a reference number.
I opened up a 30 day free trail with Experian to monitor this and after going on to cancel that membership before incurring chargers there are some of the accounts still open and my credit rating is now 'Poor'.
Can anyone advise how I can get this information off my account as I am hoping to buy a house and believe this is now going to stop us moving forward.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Id be informing experian and the other credit ref agencies of the same too.0

Definitely worth getting copies of your credit files from all 3 agencies.
If there are any other accounts appearing on these then write to those creditors as well.
The ones you have already contacted - I'd likely give them another 2-3 weeks to remove the entries from your file (have they all confirmed in writing that they will do so?) and if not write to them again to complain and ask them to remove these accounts as a matter of priority. (You don't need to stay subsribed to the premium service, just order a £2 report in a few weeks time).
Also worth contacting the 3 credit reference agenices direct about any fraudulent accounts that appear.
You might want to look into CIFAS protective registration, this does have a small fee but makes it much harder for people to open credit in your name.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks. I believe one company has put me onto CIFAS under their policy. I have only received one confirmation letter stating that they are investigating, so will write letters to the other companies now.
Can you advise which other credit reference agencies to contact? I spoke to someone at Experian and because I wanted to cancel my membership he didn't transfer me to customer services to further investigate the companies that shouldn't be on my account. Should he have?0 -
Don't deal by phone, write. You are looking at call credit and Equifax for your credit file.
You can get access to your call credit file for free for life via Noddle (one report per month)
each one of these have a process for getting your 32 report and how you report fraud to them.0 -
The 3 agencies are experian, equifax and callcredit/noddle. Noddle is a free to access version of your callcredit file. Equifax also have a free trial or just order the £2 statutory report.
Even if you don't subscribe to their premium service experian (or any agency) should still investigate any concerns your have about entries on your credit file.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
munki i feel your pain, exact same thing happened to me and its been nothing but a complete mare!
my advice would be to take the advice given here and sort it as soon as possible. i wrongly thought the phone companies had resolved everything but orange left one of the fraudulent accounts open and i ended up with thee worst possible credit rating. i didnt notice till i tried to get a new contract phone 9 months later!!
took about 6 weeks to get my credit rating back to normal and the "debt" owed to orange removed.
luckily for me i had just bought my first house before the "debt" started mounting up so it wasent picked up on my mortgage companys background search.0 -
sorry it was EE not orange.. but they are one and the same. a shower0

Hi munki (and for the benefit of others reading this thread)
When something like this comes to light, a phone call to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 is highly recommended. They will issue a crime reference number where appropriate and can offer practical as well as emotional support to those affected by all sorts of fraud.
