noodle is free credit report, if your last payment 6yrs ago it will be barred as tixy saying0

ok, so checked noddle.
has all my addresses, as does experian.
noddle shows my 1st credit accounts but also shows my AG - Orange.
also shows santander which i think is a different on to my HFC - !!!!!!!!
default dates are as follows
AG for Orange comms - £218 start -feb 2001 - default 08/2008
1st credit Halifax acct. £708 start-03/2005 default 05/2008
1st credit Halifax acct. £937 start-09/1995 default 04/2008
1st credit Halifax c card £1364 start-03/05 default 05/2008
santander unsecured loan £912 start-08/05 default 01/2008
HFC Beneficial finance (store/credit card) ???? - approx £1000 still not on either credit scoring.
Spoke to AG they said it was policy/law to mark an acct as part satisfied if an agreement is reached to settle.
I'm thinking i should write to AG with an offer and to take the discounted 70% offer from 1st credit as even if shows part satisfied as these will all drop off my scoring by midway next year, then i can start to repair/build my scoring again.
any further advice gratefully accepted

If you do want to make a reduced full & final settlement to 1st credit you could still try offering less than the 70% they have initially offered you. You may well find they would still accept say 50% or 60%.
The HFC debt - have you paid anything towards this recently? Do you think it is more than 6 years since you paid towards this? Are they chasing you for this debt at the moment?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
sorry.. misunderstanding, the 70% is the discount. the offer is to pay 212.48 for settlement of the 708 debt.
HFC has now been purchased by lowell financial who have today sent correspondence.0 -
Regarding HFC - have a read of this Statute barred debts and the Limitation Acts
If you think it applies and think that it is statute barred then send the relevant template from that link to lowell.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
as i can see that none of the default dates are over 6 years old i think this would not apply yet unfortunately i have contacted AG and intend to send an offer to settle. but on reading these comments and the links i wonder whether to discard the other offers and correspondence and await the 6 yr anniversary and see if i can drop them?? thoughts??

I thought you were saying HFC was older than 6 years since default, if its also more than 6 since you paid or acknowledged that debt then that one may be statute barred.
Regarding the others - you could try to sit it out, but of course there is still a risk of them taking court action before the 6yr anniversry of the last payment/acknowledgement.
Its a risk, but an option.
If one was to successfully take court action then if you could pay the full balance within a month it wouldn't appear on your credit file. If you couldn't then the CCJ would be on file for a further 6years.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
well just a bump. having sent AG orange an offer letter, i have not received a response. looking at the default dates santander has now passed 6 years, what does this mean to me now?? also lowells have forwarded to red collection. It says they specialise in 'assessing accounts for litigation purposes' amount outstanding £1350
I guess i am quietly worried, don't want a visit. but yet am still wondering whether to hold out??!!??0 -
Just to note also that lowells/red on behalf of HFC are still not showing on either experian or noddle, and santander has now dropped from noddle and experian since 6 years was jan this year. (what does that mean now??)
thanks in advance

Hilooking at the default dates santander has now passed 6 years, what does this mean to me now??
it means it should no longer appear on your credit files.
The important thing is when you last paid anyone for this debt. Forget the default date, that is not relevant.lowells/red on behalf of HFC are still not showing on either experian or noddle,
If you last made a payment over 6years ago, and if you have not written to them since then the debt would be statute barred, and if/when RED write you could simply reply with the statute barred letter template.
The chance of anyone visiting you at home without contacting you first is very very slim. If they did you simply tell them to leave and put anything they want to say to you in writing.I guess i am quietly worried, don't want a visit.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
