eBay-selling issues

Options
Ok... Need some help!

I sold a saddle on eBay and the buyer opened up a case saying that it wasn't as described as it was in the title that it was a lismar saddle. Losmar is not a brand it was a made to measure bespoke saddle from lismar, hence a lismar saddle. So they said it was branded as such and therefore not as described. Well there's no such brand as lismar so it's not like thy specifically were looking for that brand! So typical ebay, they sided with the buyer and decided to refund them even before I had the saddle returned back to me.

Upon receipt of the saddle the buyer has damaged it! It was sent out smothered in bubble wrap and fragile on the label and returned to me shoved into a tiny cardboard box far to small for it with one tiny bit of bubble wrap for protection resulting in the tree being damaged and scratches all over the cantle. eBay decided that as they had no images of the saddle prior to it being sent to the buyer they could not govern whether the buyer had damaged it or not, bearing in mind the original xase was over te branding not the condition of the saddle. Therefore they have said they are still siding with the buyer and that I have to refund them and that I should claim off the postal service ( not the postal services fault it's poor packaging that caused the damage!) or take the buyer to small claims court.

What do I do now I have a £150 saddle that is damaged beyond repair and lost £50 in eBay fees and postage costs as eBay won't refund me the fees.

Take the buyer to court, for any damage they have caused if you think you can prove they caused the damage.

Your photos however are not very good and your description sparse, which for a business seller is not great.

So what is a Lismar? Why mention it if it means nothing.

Personally I think you take it as a lesson and improve your listings to avoid a repetition.

You sent a saddle in bubble wrap- I am surprised it arrived in one piece at all or that anyone would carry it unboxed.

I took from the OP's description that it was protected by bubble-wrap, not that it was sent only in bubble-wrap.

I guess that prove's Hintza's point that the OP needs to improve their descriptions to remove ambiguity. :D
