Music - suggestions other the burning to cd

For starters I am clueless about this so please excuse me!!

I have a load of music downloaded onto my computer which I put on the kids mobile phones etc. Also burn to cd's for playing in car and on hifi. Thinking there must be a much easier way than burning to cd's all the time.
Do I need to go down the line of buying an ipod and speakers or is there a MSE way of doing this.

Cheers for any advice.

You will need some kind of kit to either play the music on or to send the music to. This can be as simply as attaching your pc to your hifi, then playing via the pc, having any sort of mp3/4 player, not necessarily an ipod, you first need to check what format your music is is (the file type) but you can convert it from whatever to what you need. Or do you have a Smart TV which attaches to your wi-fi router, which can then link to your pc and play the music. Alternatively if you have a usb slot on your TV you could copy some music to a usb stick and then play it that way.
It really depends how you would find it the easiest.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Plug speakers direct into computer for use at home?

For the car an iPod/MP3 player, and a cable into the aux port if you have one (or if you have a Buck Rogers car with a USB port put it on a stick)?

Have a smart tv - but it doesnt connect to internet ... only bought as was a bargain - probably a lot I can do with it then!!

Would a cheapie MP3 player do my job with some speakers?

Must check if car has aux port - that would be good.

    THANKS

  • If you have a smart TV, ie one with wifi, then it will be able to connect to a complaint music library on your computer and play the music directly via its own speakers - sound probably wont be great but it is MSE

If you already have a hifi then you can get a small box that connects to the wifi and your hifi and this allows you to stream to your hifi (though the controls for your next song etc remain on your PC/ Mobile etc)

As to the car, you need to check what the stereo is capable of, some have a usb port so its as simple as sticking them onto a stick, some have a true iPod interface so you get full integration, some allow you to burn MP3s onto a disk as MP3s rather than CD audio and play from that so giving you many more tracks per CD
