Negotiating store discount in florida

I'm off to florida in September, being a person who likes a bargain has anyone got any experience of asking for discount in stores?
The shops I'm thinking of are Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle etc If I pick mutiple items, whats my chance of getting 10/15% off?
Has anyone asked a similar thing in any stores?
Cheers, Stu.

It is possible, depending on the type of store it is.
Last year my dad haggled down the price of a digital camera that was waay overpriced on shelf... asking price was more than what you'd pay here for it.
Most stores expect haggling - and hence have the display price up high. If you hum and haw about the price as in ".....I don't know if i'd pay that much for it....." type thing, they start chucking in extras and make offers.0 -
You haven't a hope in hell.
A&F are the premiere clothing outfitter for the 'hip and trendy' generation in the US. They don't need to offer discounts the stuff flies off the shelf anyway without it. And the clothing is priced excessively high.
If you try it expect the staff to make a prize spectacle out of you.The proof that some people really are opinionated and ignorant

I've never seen discount coupons for A&F or American Eagle, but Old Navy often have flyers with coupons in, and if you buy mags like Teen People Cosmo Girl etc out there, they often have coupons for fashion in the the big department stores like Sears, Macys, Nordstrom etc.
The outlet type malls usually have discount booklets which you can pick up at various places, and sometimes the large regular malls also do discount booklets for visitors, but we've never found them that brilliant - stuff like 10% off specific items, or a gift with purchase (nailfile or a biro when we claimed one!)
In general they don't haggle in chain stores in the US, and Americans often seem to buy large amounts of stuff (they may have driven 4 hours to a mall if they live out in the sticks!), and I've not seen extra discounts given for quantity. The department store one-day sales sometimes offer very good discounts - 15% or more off, so keep your eyes open for those!0
