Odd glitch on Amazon- be careful.

Earlier on I was on amazon and put a few books on my wishlist. The first time I tried to put one on, it took me to a page that was just white with text symbols. I went back to the last screen, tired again and it went onto my wishlist.
Just now, my husband asked me if the book I bought earlier was a christmas present. When I checked emails, amazon were thanking me for ordering this book (with 1st class postage!). I have been able to cancel it and have sent them an email to let them know what happened, but I've taken my card details off the account just in case.
I don't think it can have been hacking or a virus, since I would have got the book delivered to me anyway. Any ideas?

It's just a minor bug. Probably caused by them doing something to the website at the exact time you were using it.

I suspect that you didn't click on add to wishlist but on the Buy now with one-click ordering button. They're very close together.
I see that another member has come to the same conclusion whilst I was typing this0 -

It wouldn't explain why they got a duff screen coming up.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Even if I had (can't claim to be more than 80% sure), surely I should have had a screen come up to confirm what postage I wanted- it shouldn't just assume the expensive option.0

If the book was on marketplace, then no you dont get to choose postage with 1-click0

There's a section in "Your Account" to select your default postage option for one click ordering and that is what will apply.
Did the order confirmation email come through thirty minutes later? That's what happens with 1-click as they leave time for you to buy other items and will then merge the order together. This is everybody's fault but mine.0 -
In that case, I concede that I may have clicked the wrong thing! Now I'll have to hope they don't think I'm dodgy when I order it again tomorrow, along with a couple of others- and with free delivery.
Just checked my settings and indeed 1st class is the default- you can't choose super saver, so I've turned it off to be safe.0
