Boiler devices/apps for iphone control

Don't post in this forum often but see some good advice from people so thought would try my luck.
I have an Alpha CD28C boiler with the Alpha Easystat. I want to be able to control it from my iPhone (it is basesment property and quite cold, but costs a fortune to keep running so want to be able to control when on way home as this varies from day to day).
Alpha don't so an appropriate device and have advised that "the boiler just relies on being switched on so there might be something on the market to do that".
I've looked about and to be honest got confused with what would do what and whether it would actually work.
I have a router near the boiler so it has Ethernet cable option etc.
Anyone done it themselves? Was it difficult/expensive/problematic?
Many thanks.

Thank you a lot, in fact you were the poster who I had hoped would see this as I was sure you would know! Ill go away and do some reading.
What sort of cost approx. am I looking to get someone to swap something like this over (Kent seaside)? Presumably I need a spark rather than a gassafe man.0 -
if your room stat is wired back to the boiler it's a fairly straight forward job, you either need a good sparkie that is familiar with heating systems or a good heating guy that can do electrics, it's not rocket science as most of the work is done by the boxes & softwareI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

The room stat is actually wireless but I guess it goes to a receiver which in turn is simply connected to the boiler in place of a manual device on the boiler.0

The only problem with most of these devices is they require a 3rd party to connect your boiler control unit to your phone, ala man in the middle.
What happens if the company behind the product vanish or decide to end of life the produt, there are no g'tees that these 'cloud' services will remain operational meaning that you need to fork out more money to replace the kit with alternative!
Granted with most home users wont have the privalage of having a dedicated server machine running at home or a static IP address, but it would be nice to see the option of being able to "do it yourself" rather than having to rely on a 3rd party!0
