Damaged bath by window installer, how to complain?

We've just had our windows replaced by a reputable local company only to find they left a crack in our bath while they were fitting the window just above it, which means we cant use it as water will leak obviously.
They had left some bricks on the window sill the day before so probably one of them was dropped by them accidentally into the bath or a heavy tool.
We spoke to the workmen about this but they denied it but later offered to go halfway for buying a new bath which we declined as it wasn't our fault the bath broke.
As they were denying it i told them il speak to company who sent them to replace the windows directly but i have a feeling they will try blaming it on us aswell, i just need to know how do i complain and what are my rights? Am i responsible for replacing the bath or do i go half way like the workmen mentioned? Either way ill have to fork out for it to be fitted, im not good at complaining can someone please help?
Thanks

if they broke then they need to fix it, labour & materials0

But how do you know they broke it? There is a difference between thinking you know they broke it and actually knowing.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

In the end it will come down to "balance of probabilities" in front of a judge.
House holder says "bath was fine, window company replaced window above bath, left bricks on the window sill overnight and when they had finished it was discovered the bath has been damaged by a brick or heavy tool and is unusable due to leak"
Window company says "we didn't do it"
Judge listens and then decides who he believes most.
In practice, once the reputable local company get a formal letter they will likely pay
OP.........Have you paid for the job? any credit involved? Get a couple of quotes to cover a new bath and fitting and take it from there.0
