Very catalogue duplicate payment

Very has taken 2 payments of £100 on Sunday even though I only paid once. They are denying 2 payments have been made but my bank insists they have, one of which is pending the other has gone through. Cost me a fortune calling premium rate lines to try to talk to these people, can I reclaim this also? Tried telling them to contact merchant services but they just fobbed me off. Disgraceful behaviour from a big company.

    What can you do? In future call 08081010021 for SDG
  • Oh Very customer services or Payments in Aintree will not contact netbanx (their merchant provider) for an authorisation hold as it will drop off.

    If the second payment has not been debited to your account then they are correct about only getting the one.
    As others have said the earmarking will drop off soon.

    What can I do?

    GHOST transactions do my head in. This has happened a few times to me lately. Quite honestly, when I have a large payment (like I had a £90 bill in a big supermarket the other day,) I pay with cash, as some parts of the month, I literally can NOT afford to have 2 X £90 come out of my account.

    I know the 'one' payment drops back into your account, but not for 4 or 5 working days usually. Sometimes longer.

    A certain BIG STORE left me in a massive pickle some time back, when I only had £100 in my account to last 8-10 days. (All bills and rent had been paid, so this was for food and petrol.)

    I paid £35 for petrol to last the 10 days, and had £65 for food. Of course, their moronic system took the payment and then a 'ghost' payment. So £70 was held. I had £30 to last 8 or 9 days, for everything for me and my family.

    To say I was fuming doesn't even cover it!
