Lowell portfolio? help!

Ive just received my Equifax credit report and on it it has one from Lowell portfolio for a sum of £697. Its says credit card next to it, I have no idea what this is as it dates back to 08/2002. I have tried finding phone numbers for them in order to find out what this debt is but i cant get a contact number anywhere. Can anyone help? What can i do, im trying to get my credit report clean

  • yep tried that, all i get is forums complaining about them lol. I need to know what it is so that i can clear it. i have found an address but its only a po box, surely if they are a debt collection agency, they would have a phone number?

    Could it be a credit card debt that has been sold on?

    Might be worth staying put and seeing if they find you first. It will be statute barred next year and will disappear from your Experian report then.

  • ive also found out that ive had £2000 in over payments from benefits away back in 1998!! thay are wanting it all back! I begining to wish id never started this lol.

    They are a DCA. This is all I could find an address they seem to deal with all sorts of people from T Mobile, HSBC quite a big company
  • cheers, at last thats better than just a po box. I might just hold out then and see if it gets taken off next year. so much debt!!!

    They might still try to pursue the debt even if it is over 6 years old, so brace yourself for that one in case. There is advice on here or on www.nationaldebtline.co.uk that helps with letter templates, etc.
