Quick Question re Joint Applications

Hi,
I have a poor credit rating and my husband has a good rating. We are thinking about applying for a joint mortgage (I have no outstanding debts & pay everything on time now but score will be low for a few years to come).
I know that if we were approved we would be financially linked & my score would affect my husbands but what about the application itself - will the application alone financially link us?
Thanks

What was the extent of your adverse credit history?
Late payments, DMP?0 -
The application alone won't link you both, but the associated credit check will.
During our mortgage application we were credit checked and, after a few days, my OH's name appeared under financial links on my credit report.
Do you have defaults/late payments on your file?0
