SP electricity switching hell, the Sequel
I am trying to switch electricity from SP.
I have a prepayment meter on economey 7.
Anyway when i contact other providers eg Eon and SSE when they check the national meter data base they report that my meter is a credit meter. And they cannot transfer my electricity over until my meter record is corrected and that must be done by SP.
I have contacted SP on number of occasions by phone and they say there is nothing wrong with my electricity meter record. Even had some one call me from the "Metering record on Monday. Spent two and a half hours yesterday trying to get through on the phone to SP only to be told there is nothing wrong with my meter records.
No SP representative will give me their full name or direct contact number so I can get back to them. SP representatives say there is no manager or supervisor avaliable even though i demand to speak to one! So I contact them via the main SP number and ask for an individual dealing with my case. SP still have yet to reply to my emails.
I have contacted UKpower networks my DNO and the MPAN is correct but they have no more info to give me and the national metering data base ECOES will not talk to domestic customer

PPM/Credit meter information isn't held in your MPAN. Even if it was, all suppliers will take customers on a PPM, not sure why eon/SSE would say otherwise.
Single rate/E7 information is held in your MPAN (profile class 01/02) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meter_Point_Administration_Number
Unless there's something else going on here, I can't see what SP have done wrong.
Is there any debt being recovered from the meter?0 -
Hi Bluebirdman
As far as I know the meter is in credit and has no debt against it and I had it for 13 years.
Eon and SSE will take on a prepayment meter I agree, but the data base these providers access reports my meter is a credit meter so they can not proceed with the transfer.
The information on ECOES at the bottom of the link you gave, says it can give a lot of information on the meter, but I do not know if it states its credit meter in these records perhaps?
