I DIY'd for our honeymoon and it was lovely. It was for a trip to Venice, Rome and Sorrento and we did initially get an agent to send us a quote but it was expensive, for hotels I didn't like and ending no-where near the coast. I picked fab hotels and booked them direct, booked the flights, found first class trains between the cities and found a taxi transfer site to get us to and from the London airport and a luxury water taxi in Venice.

We're now DIY fans. In the past 7 years we've only used an agent once to book a cruise and even then I wished I'd done more research first as it wasn't the standard I was expecting.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
