Getting loan info into Experian

Hi.
I have bank accounts and a loan with First Trust (Allied Irish Bank GB - Northern Irish version), and I would like to get them registered with Experian.
The loan, as well as my BT contract show up on Equifax searches.
My issue is that Halifax appear to determine a credit rating based solely on Experian information, and possibly just use the other agencies to check for negative information. And I want to deal with Halifax!
So it looks as if I have 1 credit account in my life so far. Even though I have about 5 at the moment! Basically my credit rating is coming back pretty good, but not good enough for what I want!
I have asked First Trust to share the info with Experian and they weren't willing.
Is there any way to make this happen?
Thanks,
Ross.

No, if a particular lender chooses not to share with a particular credit reference agency that is their right.
What halifax product did you apply for? what reason did they give for declining you? is there anything to indicate it was down to a lack of visible credit history?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi Tixy,
I did get an offer, not a decline.
My rating was good enough for a 90% mortgage, but not good enough for a 95%.
I don't have the details on what it would take to push me over the line. I'm guessing 2-3 credit agreements would be better than 1 small credit card.
I do appreciate this may not sort it, but it would be a good starting point! As well as saving up a bit more in case!!

Given that this is for a mortgage application I would guess it wouldn't make much difference to see additional credit accounts on your credit file.
If they were worried about your credit history then you wouldn't have been accepted for a 90% mortgage.
Did you apply direct or through a broker? If you need a 95% mortgage then perhaps speak to a broker for suggestions of places who might consider lending to you? as these are certainly harder to get accepted for.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks Tixy.
Fair point.
It is through a broker, but I'm limited in choice as I am freelance rather than a permanent employee.
