Gmail is not printing message thread in full. Why?

I recently agreed to stand in, at short notice, for a friend at a meeting he could not make. He forwarded me the complete email thread about the meeting including the details, which were in one of the earliest emails in the thread so at the "bottom".
I use gmail. On the day I printed out the entire thread as it appeared on my screen, by selecting the print command. Instead it only printed the first half of the thread, not the second half, so the meeting details were not printed. I double checked and it was all there on the screen.
Can anyone explain what is happening and how I can print out a thread in full, should I wish to do so, in gmail. Thanks
