But - part of the reason they became collectors items was because they were made by a reputable pottery house - Wade.

If these are cheaper made ... they won't be as valuable.

    Oh goody, porcelain pigs.

Are their systems still sh*t and their crap customer service papered over with generous ex-gratia payments?

I don't and have never banked with Natwest. Thank you for your informative post. By hook or by crook, I am going to make damm sure that I get myself a pig.;)

Just opened 2 First Saver accounts for my nephews. Lousy interest rate.

Chatted with an online advisor beforehand. They send out a code with the welcome pack which is used online and they then post the pigs.

One of the boys will have to give me a pig.

Piggies can also be ordered online for £10 and can take up to 28 days to arrive in the post.

    Hey kids, here's the plan:

Open a Nat West account with £1 and get the pig. They'll give you a stunning 1% interest on your quid.

Then get down to Lloyds, BoS, TSB or Halifax to get 3% interest on the rest of your savings.

Lesson for the day: Learn to screw maximise value you obtain from the banks at a young age!
