Florida Sol Blue Plates by JG Meakin

My grandmother has recently died and amongst her possesions I have found a set of Blue Florida Sol plates and dishes. I believe they are quite old from probably the 1920's or 1930's. i cannot find any information about these plates and whether they are worth anything. Any help or advise will be appreciated. Thank you.

  • I have seen they are being sold on E Bay and Amazon for between £5 and £15 each. However the cost of post and packaging are likely to be high especially as there are very likely to break. If you have a whole set your best bet would be take them along to a local auction house to ee what they value them at. if the total is over £100 it might be worth your while putting them in the auction and "hope" . Bear in mind the possible 20% commision the auction house might take. Oherwise give them a charity shop,

You might try the website chinasearch.co.uk/sell-to-us/meakin who will buy Meakin Florida china from you. Bear in mind you will be responsible for the cost of delovery by royal Mail or they can be delivered by hand by yourself. They are based in Kenilworth in Warwickshire which may not be the area where you live I do not know if somebody is aware of a similar purchaser/company in the South East of England; London or the South West of England
