Hi all,
I want to buy a KIndle fire HD first generation (currently on offer at the moment on Amazon for £99) but I want to be able to watch all catchup and live TV.
I understand I can watch BBCiplayer on it via the iplayer app, but not ITV Player or 4OD because they use Flash which is not supported.
I also understand from searching the net, that there is a getaround for this, but am confused as to how. On the second generation you seem to have to load the dolphin browser and then load flash, but on the first generation you just have to enable flash? It can't be that easy can it?
I'm really just after a simple answer as to how to watch the 4 main channels of live TV and ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 catchup services on the first generation kindle fire HD.
Thanks
Olias

It'll be the same procedure for the 2nd version as the first. You're doing what anyone has to do with any Android device to get Flash, it's not special to the Amazon devices by the looks of it.
I've got Flash working on Firefox and Dolphin browsers in Android.
The procedure you state is pretty much it - install the browser, sideload Flash (download from internet on tablet, run, bypass some scary security stuff). Performance mightn't be great, but unlike in the other thread, video should be OK as there's not much interaction. Flash is in the past on mobile though.0 -
TVCatchup is one app to consider .
Live TV rather than actual catchup .0
