Vaillant design fault

Before I write to vaillant just wondered if anyone else has/had the same problem.
We have a 4/5 year old ecotec that had a leak from the Aav. Having just had that part changed that is apparently liable to leaking I was surprised to hear that another part is leaking and needs replacement also. This time it is the flow/return black flexible pipes inside the boiler. Apparently the new vaillants use solid construction and they were a design fault on our particular model.
Our engineer said that he changed some recently and because of their brittleness ended up snapping a manifold and basically writing off a boiler so he's not that keen to undertake the work!
I'm going to be writing my discontent to vaillant over this and wondered if people thought it unreasonable for them to upgrade to the new solid pipes FOC and that they undertake the work due to the risks involved if any? Although out of warranty I'm unhappy that the part can perish in such a short length of time. Any others have similar problems and what do/did vaillant say?
