I was just about to say something similar. I live with parents but they are always off doing their own thing (retired) so I spend a lot of time on my own. Its bliss

All of my friends are shacked up, but to me, there are more advantages to living alone than disadvantages.

Like Tayforth says, you can leave the nights dishes and do them in the morning. Things like lights / tv / heaters etc can be turned off when your not using them, so not wasting electric.

I'm not sure I would be any good living with a partner! Would probably do my bloody head in :D

You sound so happy and content with your new life tayforth. That is so good to hear. Living alone gives you a real opportunity to focus on yourself and identify the person you really want to be - whether you're in a relationship or not. Well worth any extra expenses incurred and responsibilities you end up handling by yourself.

Thanks, marisco! :) I'm doing really well on my own, it's wonderful just to have a nice quiet, tidy house all to myself. I'd never lived alone before, but I love it.

How are you doing? Did you hear my latest news? xx

I love living alone and although I am now in a relationship I would never consider living with someone again (neither would my partner). I struggle a bit with DIY stuff, but have always been interested in cars so dealing with that is not a problem. I was always more interested in gardening than my ex, so that's OK too and I am physically quite strong so even the heavy digging is fine. The only times I have missed having someone always here is at times of extreme emotional stress.......after a trip to A&E with my son having to have stitches, after a friend's daughter's funeral......it would have been nice to have someone to make me a cup of tea. Also a couple of times I have been taken ill in the night and that's a bit scary when you are on your own.
As for bills....well food is cheaper and I control things like lights and heat so that's probably cheaper too. He likes things to look good and be expensive labels. I don;t care, so probably get much more at charity shops/auctions and save that way.
wouldn't swap my life now for the world!!!

Lovely post. I really like your sig, too. :)

This sounds good. Come on spill the beans. What is new with you?
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.
