On Wednesday my DD was taken very seriously ill (ICU/life support etc)
Thankfully, shes recovering well, but i have done no job search for a week.
What will happen at the JC please?

The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

Sorry, head all over.

- signed on last Monday (18th)

- DD taken into hospital on Wednesday so no job search done since Tuesday.
- Will be back to searching tomorrow
- what do i do about the days where i've been unable to search as i've been staying at the hospital?

How on earth will they know?Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -
Because i have nothing written down for those days- yes, i suppose i could blag it/lie, but i wondered if there was something i was suppose to do?
For instance, when i'm unwell i have to fill in a form to say i've been unable to job search.
Just wondered if the same applies when i'm looking after a sick relative? The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

You should be fine. I'd expect the treating provisions to apply0

Don't they still ask you to do so many activities per week? Just make sure you have enough to cover the fortnight and you should be ok.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0

And tell them the truth! If you can "make it up" (by that I mean catch up, not tell lies!) to what you have to do, then great. But contrary to popular opinion in some quarters, they are not man-eating monsters. Just be honest and tell them that the last thing you were thinking about when your daughter went into ICU was which form to fill in, and do you need to give them any forms now or any evidence to support this.0

I would just fill out your job seeking attempts, then fill in the dates so they're spread over the week. You can job seek at any time during the week, your only contract with them is to do so many activities for the week. If you start mentioning you didn't do anything for a couple of days and you get a difficult advisor they might end up asking you to fill out a form to say you were unavailable, so I'd save yourself the hassle. I think they're more interested in people not doing all they can to apply for work, rather than making sure it's equally distributed over the week.0

thanks so much for those replies- really put my mind at rest as the last thing i need is money problems on top of everything else.

I'll be doing a double job search effort, and will spread out my dates, as suggested. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

Deception - but no doubt you can get away with it.
I presume that on that basis, if you signed on once every two weeks you only need to do job searching every other Sunday!
Not too sure if that was the intention of the regs.
I would tell them as it is - that the poster had more on his plate for those few days than worrying about looking for a job! If they don't like it they can lump it - his daughter comes first - mine certainly would - and my wife - before anything else.0
