I want to put some bi-fold doors in my kitchen to fill a 1.65m to replace windows. Has anyone any experience of Solarlux or Origin or any tips?:)

Is that not a bit narrow for bi fold doors? We're thinking of doing the same except I was planning on French doors (cheaper) and found out our existing window is far too wide, at well over 2m. Can't remember exact measurement. I'm pretty sure there's a minimum width for bi fold doors? Or can you get one with just 2 panels?0

Yes, it's narrow to replace a window at the end of a narrow kitchen (currently no access to the garden, which is what we want). Origin Easilfold has suggested a 2 bi-fold panel door for us at a cost of £2700 inc VAT (supply only) for an aluminium one. I have asked them about a 3 panel option but they've not got back to me. If 2 panel is all that can be done that's fine with us, it would just mean that the panels will be wider than if there were 3 when folded back.
We are going to look at our Solarlux supplier shortly and they will survey, supply and fit (which is what we want as we're too old for anything DIY). Solarlux is German high end I expect the quote will be quite expensive but from what I've read you shouldn't skimp on quality for these doors. Welcome views.0 -

Are you sure you have the right size? Most bi-fold door panels are approx meter wide so with above size you would struggle to fit 2 panels/leafs!0 -

Avoid Aluminium Trade Bi-folding in Oldham, Manchester. This company do not appear to be legitimate and we lost our deposit with them.
Express bi-folding in Leeds are good. Choose large panes of glass and internal blinds which cut down on cleaning and look very neat. The manual operation tends to have fewer problems than the electrically operated system.0
