send to kindle error

Options
I have sent documents and photos to my Kindle HD Fire with no problems until recently. I get a message - Network error occurred. I have tried to get the answer from Amazon without success, so I hope that someone on here will be able to help.
Fingers crossed, Marmadook

  • how are you sending them to our kindle fire HD?

    wi-fi?

anything changed in that regard recently?

how did you expect amazon to help with this?
    Friendly greeting!
  • thank you for replying. I send it via wifi, as I had done previously, and nothing has changed recently. I tried Amazon as there is a Kindle support.
I really like being able to access my docs on my kindle, I have all sorts of knitting patterns and recipes. It is brilliant.
    cheers

Have you checked the format of the docs you're sending? Remember you have to authorise the email you're sending from, so if you're using a different email account that could be the problem.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but no solution was ever posted.

I haven't used Send To Kindle for ages and when I tried I too got the 'Network Error' message.

After some investigation it seems this is Amazon not keeping their Microsoft Windows Root Certificates updated and/or Microsoft not always offering Root Certificate Updates to certain versions of Windows.

The solution is to run the root update utility from here and Send To Kindle will work again ...
