I am looking to buy my mother a rose for Christmas. It will be permanently grown in a pot and will be put in a sunny position in her garden.
My issue is whether at this time of year it is better to buy a bare root rose, plant it up and give it to her or buy a containerised rose. The rose I intend to buy for her is available as either bare root or containerised but obviously the containerised one is more expensive. I am a keen gardener and have grown bare root roses with success. My mother however is not as experienced as I am.
So, which should I buy? Will it make any difference?
Thanks

Bare root, potted up by you, at this time of year will be in same state as potted one by next spring, and maybe even better because the compost will be fresh & rose raring to go
Only problem could be size, not knowing the variety, but guess it would be pruned anywayWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0
