hi there,

newby with a question here.

i applied for an aqua card to help rebuild my credit score n that. all very painless.

think it said straight away that i was accepted and i received the below email afterwards.

Dear xxxxxxxxxx
We’re pleased to tell you your application was received for processing on 20/11/2013
Your application reference number is xxxxxxxxxx
Thank you for applying for the aqua Classic credit card. Your application was successful and you will receive your card and PIN separately within the next 5-10 working days.
is that really all there is to it. i thought i'd have to send docs and stuff. then again i did sign electronically i think

if anyone can clear this up for me id be very grateful.

If they have electronically identified you (eg. electoral role, credit report, etc) then there's no need to send any documentation. You have also electronically signed the agreement.

They have most likely been able to verify your identity electronically so-to-speak. When I applied I didn't have to supply documents either but after I received the letter I got a phone call basically telling me the same as what was in the letter.
  • so i'm just waiting on the pin and card then yes?

    it says 5-10 working days

    but..

    how long is it really?

Within 10 working days for me and note that is actually 2 weeks. If I remember rightly I got the PIN pretty fast and then had to wait for the card but a friend of mine got the card first and then had to wait for the PIN..

I'd say 5-10 working days typically.

    Or perhaps 1-2 weeks?

Or then again, it could take as long as a fortnight

I have more than ten CC and current account. In the vast majority of CC and current account that I have been applying and got approved I do not need to send my Identifications. I also applied for Aqua card and I did not need to send my ID. This is because as also mentioned by other people, they are able to check it electronically.

But it will depend on the person who is processing the application. If you are dealing with the bank who employ incompetent people such as in "Clydesdale" bank , they might ask you to send it by post, as some of them probably do not know how to verify electronically or do not bother to do check it electronically.
  • as long as it wasnt just some stock sales email to get my hopes up

just wish i'd saved that acceptance screen to double check

    cool
