Registered Owner vs Registered Keeper

I want to buy my Mother a car, I will be the registerd owner and she will be the registered keeper.

She will insure and use the car, I will be a named driver.

Will there be any problems when she insures the car before I collect it with her not being the registerd owner?

Also, she has a Disabled Persons Exemption from Road Tax, will the ownership/ keeper situation cause problems with getting the Certificate updated to show the new vehicle?

There is no such thing as a registered owner. There's the registered keeper (the name on the V5) and the LEGAL owner.

In your scenario they will be different people. Many (Most?) online insurance sites will ask if they are the same person & refuse to quote if they are not.

I'm not suggesting you are but if you're doing this to try and get cheaper insurance (ie you will actually be the main driver) insurance companies take a dim view of it. Surch this site for "fronting" for more info.
