Big window insulation

I have a massive window in one bedroom which seems to let in a bit of cold. Not sure if it's not sealed properly, or more because it's a sloping bit of the roof (attic style) so the bricks don't help.
Does any have any hot tips on how to improve insulation. Would buying some massive foam squares and putting that in front help?
(The curtains for the window are always closed anyway - so doesn't matter if ugly)
I rent so I don't really care for a long-term solution
Any advice welcome!! thanks!!
