Expedia Best Price Guarantee

Options
Expedia have a best price guarantee that if you book with them and find a cheaper deal at the same hotel for the same room within 48hrs of your check in date they will refund you the difference.

I booked with them on a non refundable hotel. A couple of hours later 3 deals came on trivago that were up to £600 cheaper!!!!

I took screen shots of each deal and applied for the refund.

There was one word difference in the description of the room at the same hotel for the same room. expedia said 'king' the other companies all said 'deluxe'.

The hotel doesn't do deluxe rooms, it only does king or twin. So this was the other companies slightly changing the wording of the description themselves.

Expedia is REFUSING to pay out! It says it doesn't have to because the other companies said deluxe! Yet it was the same room at the same hotel!

This means expedia will only ever pay out if it is expedia that has written the listing as all companies word things differently!!!

Feel completely ripped off!!!

Do I have a case against them?

Have you verified that deluxe does indeed mean king? Are you positive they don't have deluxe rooms of any sort (ie did you ask the hotel what rooms they have available - they don't allocate the same rooms to every agent.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Its an expedia offer, not a legal right to be refunded the difference, therefore expedia can define any rules and limitations on the offer as they see fit.

One of the reasons why a couple of extra quid on a refundable room is worth it nowadays as you can never 100% predict occupancy rates which dictate the rates offered.
