    Thanks

Question why does the end date need the year?

it must be 2014 given when you are posting it so I wouldn't have thought it would get expired.

It's apparently in the forum rules somewhere. If a comp ends in the next year to the one you are in it needs the year included in the title.

I know this because Fire**fly posted on one of my comps ending next year showing me that actual rule :)

Don't really see the need if it's obviously the next year. If it was for December 2014 then it would make sense.

I think i must be having a slow Sunday but the bit I see from the guide says the following

"Put the date at the beginning of the title box, & please use the Forum standard, below.

    E: XX/XX, For Example, E: 02/04 Win a .....

This makes things a lot easier for the BGs & Compers (like you) to find comps that are ending. If the comp ends within 12 months then it is fine to put the dd/mm date as explained above. If you have a rare comp that has more than a year to the end date then please stick to the posting convention above then put a space & put the year in brackets - but only if it is MORE THAN 12 months ahead.
E: 02/04 (2018) Win....... <-Only if comp is more than 12 months away from ending."

Two of those it's the same poster either posting or telling somebody else to amend their title.

Pm to say what? Not everybody understands the 12 month rule?

sometimes the comps can get expired by peeps accidently helping out on comps ended expiring if the end date for next year isn't added when it's coming up to the new years comps, has happened quite a few times in the past,

Could then just get a BG to move them back onto the board.

Do feel the goal posts are moving here.

First it's a rule then well no actually the rule says something else which makes more sense, then it's some people do and now it's some people expire them with out the year.

Given it takes a few people to expire a comp how they don't realise it's next year is beyond me.

Perhaps they need more gin and chocolate...
