Our Dishwasher Is Not Heating Water Diplomat HJA8630

Hello, please can I have some advice. Our Diplomat HJA8630 dishwasher is not producing any heat during its cycles, so we can only have cold water washes. It is failing to heat any water at all irrespective of which cycle we select. Is this likely to be the failure of the heater element or is there anything that I can check first or even repair myself. If this isn't a self repair is it more economical to simply replace the dishwasher with a new dishwasher or is it economical to call someone out to repair it?
Thank you for your help.
