Hi All,
New to this PPI reclaiming - can someone please help !
I took out a loan with Lombard Insurance in January 2001 in order to purchase a car, the used car dealership that sold me the insurance as part of the loan application and advised me to take out PPI as this would cover me if I was off work sick or unemployed.
I have complained to Lombard and they have dismissed my claim on 29th July stating they were not party to the sales negotiations and acted as an administrator only and forwarded my complaint to the "Broker" / Car Dealership.
Can someone please advise if I should drop my claim or pursue it through the Financial Ombudsman .
Thanks in advance of any reply's.

You may have trouble with this due to the year, do not give up hope yet, see what the car dealership come back with first.0

That sounds correct. The issue is with the retailer not the provider (unless the provider is the retailer). Can someone please advise if I should drop my claim or pursue it through the Financial Ombudsman .
You dont have access to the ombudsman as its pre-regulation (14th Jan 2005). Plus, you havent complained to the right place yet. You need to refer it to the dealer.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
January 2001 predates the GISC code so even if the dealer had subscribed to it (which they generally didn't) FOS would not be able to consider your complaint.0
