Npower fabricating bills!

Hello new to the forum and in need of any help you can give.
We moved from a rented property over six months ago and did not receive a gas final bill the electricity was in credit by just over £8. It is now at the ombudsman stage not for what I'm about to write about below, its a joke rally all meter readings were provided.
Now out of the blue I have received 3 bills telling me I owe them money.
To start from the begging of the tenancy they were pre payment meters which were in credit when I had them taken(I never got the credit back I might add) out for a regular meter. As long as when we left they were returned to prepayment landlord was ok with this and this is what we did all readings were given. As part of the tenancy agreement the meter needed to be in credit to get my deposit back which I did.
So they have fabricated 2 bills now saying I owe approx 70 for each ans now say I owe 100 for the one I was in credit and still no gas bill!
Can I sue them the stress of this is silly from just wanting a gas final bill to you owe npower 3 more is stupid!
Any help greatly appreciated.
So goddam angry

  • Hi Dave

I'm having the same nightmare problem with NPower. I moved out of a rented property at the end of July, they sent me 4 different final bills which was eventually sorted out and paid. I am now receiving bills for over £400 which they say are outstanding gas & electricity bills. It's gotten to the stage now where they have passed my account to a debt collecting agency who are now hounding me for the money.

I have been asking for proof and detailed account statements for the amount they say I owe, it's been over 4 months and still I have nothing. I asked them to stop sending me letters from the debt collection agency and they responded by saying they will stop if I set up a payment plan, even though they can't prove that I'm due them money.

    *bangs head againt the wall

    Hope you get it sorted...

When I switched from NPower they sent be a bill for £300.

I disputed this and they came back a couple of weeks later with a bill stating they owed me £300...which I accepted of course!

At no point did they show me meter readings that made any sense, they were all lower readings from before I moved into the property 5 years ago.
