  • Morning all,

Firstly, that's brilliant news Hillstep :)

Cloudy day here at the moment but not too dull, very chilly though.

Enjoyed the dog racing last night and had beginners luck winning on my first ever bet! We made a £1.87 profit! Such fun! I think when Groupon offer the deal again we will go again and take DS2 as he was a bit miffed he wasn't invited this time. Why is it you ask them if they want to come and do various things with you they say 'nah, fanks!' and then when you don't invite them they want to do it! Can't win!

Done the washing but not bothered to peg it out. Off to see the in laws later, DH has been a bit miffed with them lately and has only just started speaking to them again after a break of about six weeks.

Have a good day everyone :)

LW Hope you are coping without fur baby to love.
Thanks; I only have til Friday, then Amber will be arriving for a 2-night stay.:o

Tbh, today I was glad we don't have a dog here for now - Mr LW broke a glass vase, and the shards went absolutely everywhere. All cleared up now though - I was a bit annoyed, as I'd put it in a safe place, he moved it and then decided to clean the kitchen windowsill (which I can't reach properly) and knocked it off the draining board where he'd moved it to. Men!!:D

Anyways, he's having to put up with dins being a tad late as a result, but I don't suppose that'll kill him.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon All

    Welcome to Iris and LittleMissPennyStretcher.
    Congrats to Jools' DD.
Julie - Good Luck for tomorrow, hope you make a speedy recovery.
HH - They're having a laugh. Enjoy your meal.

Birthday dinner was lovely yesterday, all finished by about 7.30 so DD and I decided to go to the charity night one of my work colleagues was holding but we were persuaded to go back to birthday girls parents for a drink instead. Had a good laugh and got in about 10.30.

Up early this morning and made my way to Edinburgh through the fog, it was ok when I got nearer and actually quite pleasant. Collected DS2s belongings from flat and then met a friend. We had a wander around the car boot sale that is held in a multi storey car park (good fun) and then went for lunch. Good to catch up.

DD has gone to Glasgow for an afternoon/evening out with friends so I will collect her from the station later - hope it's not too late - work for me tomorrow.

Very cold here, WM and TD on to clear a backlog, DW emptied, just need to have a bit of a dust around.

    Take care. XX

    Evening all,

Welcome to newbies...its a niceplace here.

Grey skies here , not very cold but wouldnt cheer you up.

Sardines, colcannon and peas for dinner, nice. Made bottom of fridge soup, meant to throw in a tin of tomatoes, but didnt have any, was shocked as I normally have dozens, so some outlay needed tomorrow, wiill need to go through cupboards in the morning, have run out of noodles which is the only thing that DGS2 wants after school.

    Take care all, stay safe

  • Good evening all and welcome to our new chums,we are a canny lot here so you should pick up lots of free info and tips :):)
Just back from Dds where I have been since yesterday as her and OH went away for his birthday treat.the boys wre great fun and we all had a good 'naughty night' with lots of spoiling from me and none of them fell out or murdered each other (result :):):))
ben the 17 year old even went as far as bringing all his grotty washing down from his bedroom and emptying all of the upstairs rubbish bins.Their house is on three floors so as I have trouble climbing stairs easily they have to cart junk down as I don't do 'lighthouse stairs ':):) The 13 year old hoovered the sitting room and dining room and the 12 year old kept me supplied with lots of tea :):) the nine year old came into my bed for a cuddle this morning and told me his 'bucket list ' should he ever get ill :):):) It goes
    1 Sleep in a hammock, (I think he's watching too much 'I'm a celebrity'
2 Do a bungee jump off the top of Tower Bridge
3 go skydiving from 30k feet
4 win lots of money on the lottery and buy me a new hip ( be nice if he could get one in Tesco's think of the points :):):))

DD brought me a lovely bunch of flowers home bless her
Feeling decidedly nippy tonight so I'm having a snuggle down in bed and a read of my library book
Hester Oh how I remember the callout my late OH and I had at times. We lived on the outskirts of London and his transport yard was in the east end a good 40 minutes away.We had two static guards on site every night plus a dog and guard but the local lads always tried their luck when it came to getting in as we had two of the warehouses were 'bonded' ones which meant they had spirits and valuble contents. This time of the year I don't think we had a full week where someone didn't try their luck. The guards were there to deter folk but most of the time they just rang my OH to say the alarms were going off. As his manager lived about an hour and a half away we always used to go instead as we were closer.I sometimes had to go as if my OH had had a beer with his dinner he wouldn't drive .So for years we would take it in turns who was having a beer or a glass of wine in case we had to drive in to london.Nothing worse especially in the early hours of the morning .Once we had two lads tried to get in and the gurd dog chased them.As they leapt over the wall to get out one of them caught his hand on the glass on the top of the wall and lost his finger. The dog retrieved it for the guard and when we arrived we had to phone the local hosptals to see if anyone had reported in minus their finger.never found out whose it was and my OH had it ina bottle of solution in the warehouse awaiting its owner reclaiming it :):):) Lucky the dog didn't eat it really :):)
The 1970-80s were a fun time for us :):):)
Right off to bed I think
Cheers chums enjoy the rest of the evening :):)

  • Nice to see you posting on here wondercollie

    Welcome littlemisspennystretcher

Had a rotten day, one of the upright freezers defrosted because I didn't shut it properly after getting the pork out last night :doh:luckily I had been running it down to defrost it so I just cooked for England all day, only lost a few bits of veg , but I am still annoyed at myself :(

At least I have the next 2 weeks meals sorted; silver lining and all that :p

DH put up the mantlepiece today and the living room is looking good :D I will post a photo when I get my camera back from DD, she has broken hers and snaffled mine; guess what she is getting for Christmas ;).

Good luck for tomorrow Julie x

Off to brush my teeth and then to bed

    Sweet dreams all x
