it might well have been a bit cold by the front entrance to the shop but your company does provide you with fleeces and its not as if offering little bits of mince pie samples all the doo da day is hard work, plus you probably get paid more than me anyway

so when my partner runs the same harry enfield joke past you twice in the space of twenty minutes the least you can do is smile and humour him back

if you are mincing by that way i recommend the asda premium range mince pies, they are delish !

I think the op is upset that an Argos employee handing out mince pies was not chortling with raucous laughter at her partners hilarious 'mince by' joke.

So hilarious he found it that he repeated it a second time to make sure the employees lack of laughter was not because he has not heard this amazing joke, not once thinking that it was a) not funny and b) the employee may have found it offensive as it was using gay stereotypes.

He is paid to do his job, not humour customers and their pathetic 'jokes.'

Seriously? Maybe your husband needs to realise the joke was rubbish?

Yes it often is - because the door is open all day with little respite.

Yes, 1 - it has to last you years.
But a single fleece is not enough when you have to work in the cold draft because the door is left open all day.

Are you kidding? They are on minimum wage and expected to come in at a minutes notice, with minimum term contracts that mean that they lose out on holiday pay when they normally work a lot more. but its a job.

He might have thought it funny but when your told it 50 times a day, a day when you have to stand there handing out little bits of pie its not funny.

its a harry enfield joke based on the stereotype of ignorance, check youtube and it wasnt argos, i cant see where i typed argos

I imagine Argos was just a mistype.

We're you not a bit embarrassed when your OH repeated the joke twice? It's a bit cringeworthy!
