    Thanks for the suggestions.

No reduced settlement was offered. Original PCN was sent by post (photographic & DVLA lookup job).

I shall send the letter by recorded delivery to the solicitor and follow up with a copy by email.

Aha, so they used a local Norris Cole to rush out and take a photo and upload it to CPS. And the driver has never yet had a ticket.

So use the letter suggested (make sure it's written as in ordinaryJoe's thread in zzzLazyDaisy's example). Do not word it as any sort of appeal and NOT from the driver. And also send it to CPS themselves.

Do you understand what the situation will be after that? As the driver has never yet had a ticket at all, they must serve a Notice to Driver to the driver. They have nowhere else to go with this as there was no windscreen ticket served. That's their only way forward and luckily for the driver they can then appeal and MUST get help here to win at POPLA or later on they will get taken to court.

Tell them not to worry as we can win this at POPLA but a CPS case is one to be very carful on the wording of the POPLA appeal. DO NOT copy a template, ask for individual help and also try to work out which Norris Cole may have taken the photo.

You may have to take the POPLA appeal to pm and I would like to help you when the driver gets to that stage. Can you get a photo of the sign (important).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi,

I was wondering if I could please get some advice. Yesterday I got a ticket from CPS, I was a nurse on duty and was visiting an unwell patient. There was no where else to park and I needed to get to the patient. I have explained this to the company and they have said I still need to pay it? Is this correct?

    Thank you for your time
