You can't.
Personally, I don't think refunding would be a good idea. What I would do is to send a Paypal invoice for the remainder of the money owed, this being postage, court fee and interest only. I wouldn't try to claim for the time spent on the matter as this would make you out to be a business as you are charging for time.
Also keep the interest to a reasonable level.
Send an e-mail to the person who owes you the money informing them of what you have done and state that you will keep the legal action open until you have been paid in full.0 -
SDon't refund her. Send a letter or email (keeping a copy) acknowledging the £100 as partial payment of the debt and confirming that the court proceedings will be withdrawn upon receipt of the balance (setting out what the balance is - e.g. the court fee, interest and postage)All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0

Thanks. Have just done that, with a paypal invoice as advised above.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

I may not have explained it well, but a few years ago I had an issue with a collection only item and an abusive buyer I refused to allow to come to my house. He tried to be clever by paying me by paypal after I refused to allow him to collect so as to theoretically cause me problems with the paypal on collection issue.
I'd been keeping ebay /paypal informed the whole time and when he paid they told me to refund him back straightaway and block him to stop him paying me again- which I did successfully, so it has been done.i can't remember the details of how.
I'm not advocating the op should do this, but in my case I was told to do this.0 -
We're back to "it's not me, it's my sister-in-law. You need to be contacting her." The "sister in law" with the same first name, same style of writing, and whose email address leads straight back to her ebay shop.....?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

She's filed a defence stating a completely different version of events from her previous messages (and the truth). Says I shouldn't be able to claim because I left it 8 months (eek, I have 6 years to claim).
I'm inclined to keep going as I believe she is responsible and she's cost me more than just the cost of the blind. However, I'm aware that they're likely to allocate the case to a court near her (350 miles away from me!) and it will cost me more money to keep going.
Any thoughts here?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

If you are a consumer and she is a business, then the consumer (usually) gets choice of court, irrespective of who raised the claim. (Is my understanding).0
