hi all, hope someone can help, i am thinking of getting rid of my desktop pc, and replacing with a tablet, i was in Tesco's yesterday and the salesman told me as long as i set up my router with my computer, i should then be able to run, a TP-Link TD-W8968 300Mbps Wireless N ADSL2+ Modem Router with a phoneline connection, through my existing isp, and get the internet on the tablet, without the need of a computer, can anyone confirm if this is correct or not, as i thought you must have a computer for your router

What you were told is 100% correct. Once the router is up and running then there is no need to have a computer connected to it.
I have a computer and a tablet, and quite often I don't even bother turning the computer on, I simply use the tablet.
There is one thing to bear in mind though.
If you do as you suggest, you should really make sure that you will have access to a computer, even if it means borrowing one for a while) as if you have router problems and it needs sorting, you might have to do this via the LAN cable.
If you do a hard reset of the router (usually by pressing a small button on the back/bottom of it), it will revert to factory settings and you will may well need a wired connection to change the user name and wireless access code.0 -
