Fifteens I discovered on this forum, make for the grandchildren but eat more myself (well you gotta taste and check eh!). Its a gorgeous sticky mess of condensed milk, glace cherries, marshmallows, digestive biscs and coconut. And its 15 cherries,15 marshmallows,15 biscs, etc. So easy even a halfwit can do it...ie moi.
Where can you buy dried strawberries??
  • Crush some ice-cream wafers and add some chopped toasted hazelnuts.
Mix in a couple of spoons of warm nutella and either make balls of the mixture or coat whole toasted hazelnuts with it. Optional extra: coat the balls in melted chocolate.
Chill in gold foil mini muffin cases for a couple of hours et voila - hm Ferrero rocher-type sweets:drool: .
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

I saw a pic somewhere (Pinterest?) and never read the recipe but it looked like pecan clusters.

Basically, on parchment paper put small mounds of pecans (maybe two whole or equivalent in pieces), dollop caramel on top (as in the chewy type, not just burnt sugar ;)) then spoon melted choc over.

Will go see if I can find it again and add a link - they looked lush and I'd like to make some myself...

Ooh, ok, that was easy to find :rotfl:

  • On my HM wish list would be:

    Rum truffles
Coconut Ice - just as it is or coated with chocolate
Fudge - plain, rum and raisin or choc covered
    Peppermint creams :)

So simple and yet so yummy :)

Fudge is pretty easy, but takes ages if you get a good recipe, as you need to stir the mixture continuously while it cooks for AGES - it's good to have a helper or two to take turns as your arm will get tired. Quicker recipes are still yummy, but just not quite as smooth and creamy... I don't have a regular recipe as I like to try different flavours so tend to spend a while looking at recipes online before going shopping - but it generally uses a tin of condensed milk and some sort of flavouring like nuts, chocolate or alcohol, along with things you would normally have in, like sugar, milk and butter.

Dried strawbs tend to come from markets - I don't have a regular source sadly. I buy them when I see them! This time of year there are plenty of markets around which will have a 'dried fruit and nuts' type stall, and I'd be surprised if those types of stall didn't have dried strawberries. Be warned, they aren't cheap - but you will want to buy a good handful extra anyway as you will end up eating loads before you can get round to dipping them. If they are large, you can get extra mileage by chopping them into smaller pieces before chocolate dipping!
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!
