Hi everyone

A friend of mine is a fan of stacey solomon and went to see her a fees ago, before he went he sent an email asking if there was a meet and greet with her,They replied yes there will be a meet and greet with stacey(still have the email) so he went ahead a booked tickets

After paying for tickets and £50 in fuel he went to the event but there was no meet and greet with stacey at all didn't even see her once! Was told she'll be there all day but she wasn't,is he entitled to a refund at all?Contacted the organisers but they haven't done anything about it:(

Thanks

Did he pay extra for meet and greet?

  • The tickets only cost between £8-£12 (depending when he booked). There is nothing on the website to guarantee any sort of meet and greet. It looks like she was at the event and there was a chance of meeting her. But usually meet and greets cost extra on top of a ticket price - but it does not look like there was any official meet and greet session on offer at this event. It would be unusual at something like this. Ticket prices were very low and to get a guaranteed meet and greet within that price would be very unlikely. I would say no to any refund as the meet and greet was not advertised or promoted on the website.
  • Didn't pay any extra for meet and greet but was told by email by events manager that there would be a meet and greet and stacey would be there from 10am to 6pm but she didn't arrive until after 4pm and only stayed at short while

    None of that is relevant.

The only relevant part is the OP was informed by the retailer that a meet and greet would occur, so purchased the ticket. No meet and greet happened, the retailer has breached the contract, OP is due a full refund.

Strictly, the retailer has also committed an offence under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading regulations 2008 as well.
