it would be impossible to increase the size of my for want of a better term village on 3 sides there is no land between adjoining town and villages the other side is used by army. There is a small nature reserve which consist mainly of lakes so I suppose the lakes could be drain and property could be built there.

Depends what part of council you mean the parish does obviously the county does

What are you saying the county should be forced to build 15% more property the property need to be built where it is needed not everywhere, as I said what is need is a good overall plan and that might include building new towns as well as increasing existing developments. The problem is no one has the desire to do that.

i do love stories about the squalid conditions and lack of toilets in scotland

I recall a bloke on 'Weakest Link' who gave his occupation, when asked, as an aircraft toilet emptier at a Northern airport. Annie asked him to name the 'origin' of the flights that caused him the greatest problems. He said "Wick". Annie raised her eyebrows, saying she thought he was going to say India or something... so why Wick?

He said "It's the novelty of inside toilets, Anne"
