Hi, can anyone point me to the best free (if not then free trial) anti-virus software. Using a MSI netbook running windows 7 starter. Thanks

AVAST! make sure you click the "free protection" boxes, which may be grey
yeah that one (cheers closed)Friendly greeting!0 -
Think about increasing the RAM to 2GB. If it's the Wind U180, the required module is here for £9.99.
Though you should double check that it takes DDR3.

Will make a real difference.0 -

Thanks guys, have downloaded Avast and ran a scan, comp working better. The problem I had was when trying to open a web page it kept coming up with an error msg, saying windows had to close. that's stopped now. cheers0 -
Hi Gal .. I ditched AVG and Microsoft Security essentials .. both were freebies and TBH not much if anything was detected ,,, MSE was very shallow and AVG never did anything .... now what you want is
AVAST ... go for the free version ..its brilliant .. from the first time I downloaded it it was picking up stuff , malware and crap and now it
runs in the background , check its self so on so forth ... TOP DRAW.
Computer Geeks and I am not one say its the best " FREEMIUM "
Free/Premium out there .. I agree.0
