Vista/XP dual booting

i have two seperate hard drives and on one i have vista and on the other i have xp.

Everything was going well but over the past week or so i have been booting to xp and getting to the windows(nightrider) screen and then the screen is going blank and nothing happens. Eventually i have to turn off. Sometimes it will keep on doing this until i boot into safe mode then restart and boot normally.

Does anyoneknow a fix for this or is it just conflict and i will have to remove vista

thanks all

How was it set to boot originally - XP or Vista by default? What happens when you remove the Vista hard drive & boot only from the XP one? G

Sorry, what I meant was in the dual-boot configuration - have you set it to boot into XP or Vista first?

Btw, one can install XP after Vista when dual-booting the two - e.g. click here. G

Hi j1mgg, you haven't posted in a few days - is this doing OK now? If you're still having problems, have you tried changing the automatic boot sequence to load XP first to see if that makes a difference? You can do this from within Vista. G

P.S. From what I understand now, you have XP on the 1st drive & Vista on the 2nd, with Vista set to boot automatically if you don't choose either.
