Print the name (like 'James May') and you can sign it if you are posting it, yes, because POPLA won't use your signature for anything else! Make sure you staple it to the POPLA form fully completed. And that every page has the 10-number code written at the top, in case a sheet gets separated in the POPLA office.

You need to make this legitimate for POPLA - they need to know who you are as verification, with a cross-referenced name and reasonable signature.

This isn't 'Spooks' - it's a bit-part parking ticket, in the grand scheme of things. :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Sent the email to CEO on Saturday. This is what I got this Wednesday from Morrision's Customer Co-ordinator for the CEO & Chairman's Office.

Till now nothing happened, they haven't update anything yet.

On Tuesday I have sent the POPLA.
Thank you for taking the time to contact our CEO Dalton Philips, who has asked me to respond on his behalf.

I was sorry to learn that you received a Parking Charge Notice whilst shopping in our Camden Town store, and I do hope your girlfriend is now feeling much better.

Please be assured this is receiving my urgent attention. As we take all customer complaints of this nature very seriously, I wanted to fully investigate this matter. I will of course be in contact with you once our investigations have been completed.

I would like to thank you for your patience in this matter.

They asked for bankstatments and the ticket then, this is what they replied:
    Good morning,

Thank you for your patience whilst this matter was investigated.

Unfortunately we are unable to cancel the Parking Charge Notice that you received whilst recently shopping at our Camden store. We do believe that 2 hours is sufficient time for our customers to complete their shopping, which is why we set a limit of 2 hours for Morrisons shoppers.

Although I anticipate that you may contend our findings, we do believe that this is a policy which prevents abuse of the facility by others who do not use the store, and is therefore fair and for the benefit of our genuine customers.

I am sorry if your experience has proven that this time limit is not enough, and I do appreciate that you may have overstayed in our car park due to your girlfriend being unwell. However, in future if during a visit to the store you believe more time is needed please do not hesitate to speak with the duty Manager who will be more than happy to assist you at the time.

Thank you once again for writing to us. I am sorry that we may have disappointed you and I assure you of our continuing commitment to delivering the highest standard of customer care and attention at all times.

I am sorry that they took that line. You know what to do about avoiding the store in future.

    Ok, on with POPLA.

well done, please post the decision in the POPLA DECISIONS sticky thread too, but no personal details in it
  • So my wife received a fake PCN for overstaying a free car park in Orpington due to the fact she was enjoying her time shopping and having lunch! And for once she used cash, no cards (very unlike her) so no receipts to send as evidence.

However have already appealed to Parking Eye and they have obviously told me I am unsuccessful as they are greedy.

So they have sent me an 8 page letter stating why I have not provided sufficient evidence to show that I (their words, yet I am only the registered keeper) did not break the terms and conditions on the signage.

Now I believe my next move is to pretty much copy and paste the template on here, do I literally just copy and paste it? Or just use the bits that are relevant to my case - as not really sure what I should be trying to prove to them exactly.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

I assume they included a POPLA code with the well-known long letter trying to justify their scummy business. There is no exact template POPLA appeal on here, because - to an extent - a POPLA appeal needs to make sense to suit the case/car park, or people could slip up making assumptions and using an unsuitable template. There are examples linked in 'How to win at POPLA' in post #3 of the NEWBIES thread, and you can adapt one of the PE examples.

This isn't your thread though, so if you have any other queries AFTER reading the NEWBIES thread (top thread on tis forum board) please start your own new thread - again, you can do that on page one of the current parking forum. See my signature, you are one click away from page one and the NEWBIES sticky thread at the top. I assume you've seen it as you've mentioned a 'template' but I am not sure if you are getting muddled up with the first appeal (you are past that stage if you have a POPLA code).
