I am currently learning for my theory test... I am going to put around 30 - 50 hrs of learning and practicing.
I just want to know, your stories of how long it took you till fully revise it all and be able to pass mock tests time after time and also if you then passed your theory first time.

Read the book twice in one day passed with 100%. The hazard perception might be harder though-I never did it.0

you should be able to answer correctly around 75% of the questions with no driving or road knowledge at all. The other questions will require a bit of revision.0

Most of it is common sense. I'd be very surprised if anyone didn't pass first time. Hazard perception I'd didn't practice beforehand but it might be advisable that you do..An opinion is just that..... An opinion0

There was no theory test when I learnt to drive
However as noted above it's mostly common sense. I did one of those online test thingy just to see and I past with flying colours

As the others have said, it's mostly common sense bar the stopping distances etc. How long it takes depends on how much you already know really but with your plan to do 30 - 50 hours of study for it I think it's pretty safe to assume you will pass with a very high score.0

Do the FREE online tests. Then you will see how ready you are.
The questions on the DVLA website wont be on the actual test though. But other sites do have the some of the same questions.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Agreed, pretty much what I was going to write. The ones with stopping distances or which colours of cats eyes were the sort of ones I needed to check before the test.
The hazard perception test wasn't around the first time I sat my theory test (car) so I needed to get an idea how that worked before sitting the theory test again (motorbike). Passed it first time but the way hazards defined and they were timed seemed pretty inconsistent so was glad I had spent some time practicing with that.

Some useful advice above.
I'd just like to add my 2 cents. Buy a revision disk for your computer. They are designed in a way so that the questions that aren't common sense stick in your head. I recently passed my theory 49/50 and all I did was mock test after test. Don't give yourself a time limit, just when you can, do 3-4 mock tests a night and look over the bits you find hard to remember in greater detail. Those theory disks are amazing. 100% better than any book IMO. All the best to you!
Yesterday I passed my driving test, WOOP, the world is my oyster. It will be yours soon too0 -
