Credit File Help

Just needing advice about my credit file.

I have noticed the following search there is a previous search for "Barclaycard - Hd Decisions Ltd"

what is this for?

and why do I have an RBS Group search - I bank with them yes but I have never requested credit from them other than my overdraft but that was done well before the date the search was done it is called an Opt In search what ever that means

hope someone can help me thanks.

Do you have any financial associates?

Might they have applied for credit and these searches be as a result of those applications?

My ex, we have not long split and she has took out near £1,000 on a catalogue I have.

How can I go about looking into these searches?

Contact the credit reference agency and say the searches were not authorised by you.

With regards to the RBS one I guess you may have agreed to some T&Cs that said they could search your credit file (hence the opt-in)? You might ask RBS if they did.

Regarding your ex - if you no longer have any joint accounts then I would file a notice of disassociation with each of the 3 credit reference agencies (or each of them that she appears as a financial associate on).
